In 2014, the City Council installed a stone monument on the church campus in his honor.
Bishop Washington was consecrated and elevated to episcopal service in 2017. Also, he received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Providence Baptist Seminary and completed graduate studies at Fuller Theological Seminary and the Ecumenical Center for Black Church Studies.
