Taste of Soul: Big Ronnie BBQ

Don’t miss out on some of Big Ronnie’s Barbecue!

Sean Anthony Black, owner of Big Ronnie’s BBQ, will be selling a little bit of St. Louis at the upcoming Taste of Soul Festival.

Norwalk resident, Sean Anthony Black will be providing St. Louis style-cut pork spare ribs, hot links, baked beans, potato salad and more at Los Angeles’s “largest street festival.” Initiating his catering career close to eight years ago, Black began cooking for family and friends at local events and celebrations. From football parties to birthday parties, Black supplied various soul foods as well as barbecue dishes.

“It’s just the love for it that keeps me going,” Black stated. Hearing the approval and enjoyment from people that taste Big Ronnie’s also serves as Black’s inspiration. Similarly, his own appreciation and admiration for BBQ/the craft initiated his successful journey.

Originally from Ohio, Black grew up watching his family members cook barbecue then developing a passion for the cooking-style and American delicacy. With his approaching participation being his first appearance at the Los Angeles Sentinel’s “Taste of Soul” Festival, Black is “looking forward to the adrenaline rush of getting his product out,” as he stated in a recent interview.

He also anticipates meeting new people/customers and appreciates the whole process of becoming a vendor at the October event. “Everything has been a blessing throughout the whole process with the Sentinel.” Additionally, Black hopes to be a participant in future festivals with the Sentinel. So come on out and get a taste of some St. Louis goodness at the 2012 Taste of Soul.
