Berenice Lewis Scott — Born in New Orleans, LA, December 17, 1916, died July 25, 2010, in Los Angeles, CA. She attended Xavier University and majored in English and French and joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She obtained a Master of Science in Education at the University of Southern California and married in 1949 to Sylvester, a jazz pianist. Survived by her nieces, nephews and a host of friends, Berenice Scott was laid to rest on Monday, August 2, 2010, at Holy Cross Cemetery. Her parents, husband, and siblings preceded her in death.
