Banking and Utilities Town Hall Meeting

Assemblyman Mike Davis to host at Young Oak Kim Middle School Academy

California Assemblyman Mike Davis (48th District) will host a Banking & Utilities Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, December 12, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Young Oak Kim Middle School Academy, 615 S. Shatto Place, Los Angeles, CA 90005. Panelists include California Assemblyman Pedro Nava, Chairman, Assembly Committee on Banking and Finance and Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes, Chairman, Assembly Committee on Utilities.

The banking panelists will discuss topics ranging from Financial Literacy and Mortgage Loan Policies; Assistance Dealing with Foreclosures; Mortgage Loan Products; Consumer Protections Against Unscrupulous Mortgage Loan Policies. The emphasis of the banking panel will be on mortgage loan policies, considering the current foreclosure crisis that is negatively impacting California, as well as the nation.

Utilities’ panelists will include representatives from the Department of Water & Power, Southern California Edison, Sempra Energy and other utilities to discuss topics ranging from energy conservation, recycling and seasonal rate hikes.  Numerous vendors will also be present at the Town Hall Meeting to provide services and information on banking and utility related subjects.
