Baldwin Hills Estates Homeowners Association Health and Fitness Fair

The Baldwin Hills Estates Homeowners Association sponsors its first-ever community-wide health and fitness fair joining local and national programs to foster healthier communities and combat problems of obesity, diabetes, hypertension and cancer prevalent in African American and Latino neighborhoods.

The event will be held Saturday, March 13, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Bernardette Catholic Church (parking lot), 3740 Don Felipe Drive, Los Angeles. There will be prizes and giveaways, free cancer screenings, immunizations, HIV/AIDS testing and smoking cessation provided by Western Gastroenterology, L.A. County Public Health, Charles Drew University, and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. 

Fitness demonstrations for men, women, seniors, teens and kids courtesy of Curves Fitness, Lotus on the Nile, Oasis Fitness, Movers and Shakers Hula Hoops, Annointed Touch, Festuv Inc. and Magic Johnson’s 24-Hour Fitness. 

Robert Cole, President of the Baldwin Hills Homeowners Association and Bethany Ulrich, Community Liaison, Community Health Councils’ Coalition for an Active South L.A., will speak at the opening ceremonies and kick-off an inaugural one-mile Walk In The Dons.
