AME Ministers Preach on Good Friday

Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, Sr.

‘The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross’ will be sponsored by the Southern California Conference Ministerial Alliance of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

The service will be held on Friday, March 29, at 12 noon, at First A.M.E. Church, 2270 South Harvard Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, Sr., is the presiding prelate of the Fifth Episcopal District of the A.M.E.  Church, the Rev. John E. Cager is the Alliance president and the Rev. J. Edgar Boyd is the host pastor.

The Rev. Gregory K. McLeod will preach on ‘Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do,’ the Rev. Michael W. Eagle will address ‘Verily I say unto thee, today thou shalt be with me in paradise,’ the Rev. Carolyn Baskin-Bell will expound on ‘Woman, behold thy son . . . behold thy mother,’ and the Rev. Cager will illuminate ‘My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?’

Also, the Rev. Donna M. Davis will preach ‘I thirst,’ the Rev. Darryl E. Walker will deliver ‘It is finished,’ and the Rev. Boyd will present ‘Father into thy hands I commend my spirit.’
