Alpha Kappa Alpha’s A Hot Pink Affair

Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Mu Lambda Omega Chapter will host their annual “A Hot Pink Affair,” this Sunday, July 10, at 12:30 pm at USC’s Town and Gown.

Last year’s luncheon attracted over 300 guests, who were treated to a high class and jazzy event.  This year looks to be even better with live jazz performed by saxophonist Cal Bennett.

There will be a silent auction with the charitable contributions going toward the chapter’s scholarship program and other programs that support the community.

“This event is to support and keep service and scholarship at the forefront of our activities,” Pier Hunt said. “We currently have a membership of 55 undeniably beautiful, on the go women who have the mission of sisterhood, which ultimately supports Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. This event not only celebrates the living legacy of Mu Lambda Omega, but more importantly, asserts in being an active participant of the community of supporting our youth of continued education.”

Scholarship recipients will be on hand to be honored during the luncheon.  The honorees are recent high school graduates and current college students.

Mu Lambda Omega is involved with a number of community organizations, such as Good Shepard Center for Homeless Women and Children; Victoria Rowell (Thanksgiving Baskets); Parent School Earn, Save, Proper Kids Club and Economic Summit; Drew Medical Auxiliary Teen Health Conference; Annual Foster Family, Kids Club Holiday Skating Party; and 2010 Census Outreach Partnership.

Tickets for this event are $60 and can be purchased through the link below.
