The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health also determined that no investigation was necessary.”

“We have been in close contact with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. All schools are open, and there is no recommendation to keep children home from school.”

At this time, more than 600 school nurses are closely monitoring the health of students who attend schools in LAUSD. “Nurses are observing students at a higher level, especially those will illnesses,” said Connie Moore, Director of District Nursing. “If a student comes to school with a fever over 100 degrees, a sore throat, cough, runny or stuffed nose, nurses are calling parents to come pick up their children. We ask that sick children being kept home from school.”
