When the River’s Rising: Remember

Michael Bernard Beckwith, Founder and Spiritual Director of Agape International Spiritual Center, announces the 17th annual Revelation Conference: “When the River’s Rising: Remember,” May 20th through May 23rd  at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel. Dr. Beckwith promises a transformational experience of inspiration and exploration of the spiritual principles governing the universe. He and Dr. Rickie Byars Beckwith, Director of Agape’s Music and Arts Ministry including the 150- voice Agape International Choir, are the host facilitators with special guests including best selling author of The Green-Collar Economy and former special advisor to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, Anthony ‘Van’ Jones; theologian and teacher of Biblical spirituality, Dr. Will Coleman; and dynamic speaker, author and visionary, Niurka. Revelation 2010 features plenary sessions, transformational workshops, dialogue, meditation, Life Visioning, sacred ceremonies, music, spoken word, dance and celebration.

With a history of activism, Van Jones emerged as a national environmental leader, calling for green economic development in urban America. He founded the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and is the co-founder and president of Green for All, a community-based environmental organization started in Oakland that has become a model for environmental action around the country.  A graduate of Yale Law School who has worked as a journalist and been an independent publisher, he received the coveted NAACP President’s Award on February 26, 2010.

Dr. Will Coleman received his Master of Divinity degree, with a focus in theology, from Columbia Theological Seminary.  A few years later he earned a Doctorate of Philosophy degree (“with distinction”) from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. His areas of concentration were in philosophical and systematic theology, philosophy of religion and interpretation theory. He teaches and tutors individuals and groups in a variety of contexts in the areas of theology and Biblical spirituality in three languages including English, Hebrew and Greek.

Niurka is a transformational teacher and guide who inspires and empowers people to live powerfully, authentically and purposefully. She has invested over 15 years researching and practicing the most powerful strategies in business, leadership and sales, as well as studying and integrating the great spiritual teachings, psychological frameworks, cognitive science studies, quantum physics discoveries and the most insightful philosophies from around the globe.

Agape’s Music and Arts Ministry, under the direction of Dr. Rickie Byars Beckwith, offers up the soul-stirring 150-voice Agape International Choir, The Sound of Agape, including the Agape House Band, outstanding soloists such as Niki Haris and the Lion King’s Charles Holt, and The Movement of Agape Dance Ministry. A Youth Conference runs concurrently, sponsored by Agape’s Youth and Family Ministry under the direction of Rev. Leon Campbell. Revelation programs for youth include writing workshops, service projects, magic shows, music, art and rites of passage.

Revelation 2010 will be held at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel.  For additional information visit or call (310)-348-1250.  The conference is nearly sold out, however some Day Passes are still available for a limited time.
