Tragedy struck Hollywood on Monday August 19 when former Disney television star, Lee Thompson Young, 29 was found dead in his North Hollywood home.

According to a Los Angeles police spokesperson, his landlord found Young’s body after his Rizzoli & Isles co-stars requested someone check in on the star when he did not show up for work.

“It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning,” said Young’s manager Jonathan Baruch in a statement released Monday. “He was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends at this very difficult time.”

Young skyrocketed to fame as the star of the Disney show the “Famous Jett Jackson,” which aired from 1998 to 2001. He went on to appear in films such as “Friday Night Lights,” and “Akeelah and the Bee.”  His later television work included roles on the shows “CSI: NY,” “Smallville,” and “Scrubs.” Since 2010, he portrayed Detective Barry Frost on the TNT series, “Rizzoli & Isles.”
