A baby was abandoned at Olympia Hospital by an unknown male

The LAPD is investigating the circumstances of the abandonment and attempting to locate the baby's parents along with identifying the male that dropped the baby off.

On Saturday, February 28, at around 10:50 p.m., a male brought a six-month-old baby girl to Olympia Hospital, located at 5900 Olympic Boulevard, where he asked an employee to take care of the baby girl. The male left without further interaction with the employee. Los Angeles Police, Wilshire patrol officers responded to the hospital to investigate and take custody of the baby girl.

Wilshire Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the abandonment of the baby and are hoping by releasing a photo of the baby and the unknown male that dropped her off that someone might recognized him and or the baby and call the LAPD.

"Baby Jane Doe" at this time is in the care and custody of the Department of Family and Children Services.

"Baby Jane Doe" is described as a female African American approximately six months old. She has pierced ears and a birthmark on her lower back. She was wearing a white one piece baby outfit, with lavender colored stripe on the neck. The outfit has an orange and blue rainbow graphic on the chest. The baby was in a white 'Cosco' brand carrier with a light green cloth shade and pad, which had cartoon frogs printed on it. She was covered with a purple 'Dora the Explorer' blanket.

The unknown male that brought "Baby Jane Doe" to the hospital is described as an African American, 25-27 years old, 5'10" to 6' in height and weighing 175 pounds. He was wearing a white striped shirt, blue basketball style shorts and white high top tennis shoes.
