A soldier has passed on

Brother Abdul Wali Muhammad was laid to rest in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Those who knew Brother Wali soldiered with him and worked with him, considered him a brother’s brother and a captain’s captain.

He accepted Islam as a follower of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and rose through the ranks of the FOI eventually attaining the rank of captain. Wali was also a husband, a father, businessman and a lover of sports, though he gave up his sporting career when he accepted Islam.

Wali had relocated to Phoenix from Los Angeles in has golden years with his wife, Ayisha, and children, and he would also say that the move was good for his health. Through his adult life, he was a faithful believer and he sacrificed for the cause of Islam.

As a follower of the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Wali has remained steadfast in his faith, so much so that the Sentinel has learned that Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan traveled to Phoenix to pay final tribute to a true soldier in Islam, Brother Wali.

We expressed our condolences to his wife and family, and May he rest in peace!
