Mayor Villaraigosa Kicks Off LA.-wide Day of Service with “Give Back To Gro. Edible Garden Event”


Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa and students plant vegetables at the new Saturn Street Elementary community garden, kicking off the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Day of Service on Mar. 20. The edible garden is part of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company’s Give Back To Gro national gardening program, focused on reducing hunger; portions of the garden’s produce will be donated through First Presbyterian Church.
