A C BILBREW LIBRARY CELEBRATES BLACK HISTORY MONTH WITH HILL HARPER

CSI: New York star and award-winning author discusses his

best-selling books

The County of Los Angeles Public Library will celebrate Black History Month by hosting an afternoon with award-winning author and actor Hill Harper on Sunday, February 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the A C Bilbrew Library, located at 150 E. El Segundo Boulevard, Los Angeles.

Hill Harper is the star of one of television’s top rated dramas, CSI: New York. He is also the author of three New York Times bestsellers: Letters to a Young Brother, Letters to a Young Sister, and The Conversation. Letters to a Young Brother was named “Best Book for Young Adults” by the American Library Association in 2007, and to date, his collective work has been recognized with three NAACP Image Awards: Outstanding Literary Work: Debut Author (2007) and Outstanding Literary Work: Youth/Teens (2007, 2009).

Harper currently stars on the hit television drama CSI: NY as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes; internationally, CSI is the most successful television franchise in history. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Brown University and a Cum Laude graduate of Harvard Law School. Harper also has a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

In a Black History Month presentation, Hill Harper will bring his messages of hope, hard work and success – themes he has developed in a series of best-selling books to A C Bilbrew Library. After the two-hour author presentation, an autograph signing and light refreshments will follow the program. Harper will answer questions and sign copies of his books, which will be available for sale at the event. The author presentation is free and open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend this special Black History Month program. Seating is on a first come basis. For any additional information, please contact the County Library at (562) 940-8415.
