Political Opponents Make Unfounded Attacks & Allegations against Price
Ninth District Councilman Curren Price’s opponents apparently tried to muddy the waters in a last minute smear campaign, alleging that he is a bigamist. He was never divorced from his first wife, they said and is legally married to two women. As of Sentinel press time no factual data has been produced to show that the councilmember has done anything wrong and most political insiders feel this is simply an attempt to muddy the councilmember’s good name and distract voters from embracing all of the good works he has done since he became the district representative in 2004.
“This is completely preposterous, an 11th hour political witch-hunt pushed by one of the candidates running against Curren Price,” said his former attorney Albert Robles, who handled Price’s divorce several years ago.
“Curren Price is divorced, end of story. I was Curren Price’s attorney, my office filed the paperwork. As far as Curren Price is concerned, his divorce was settled years ago and that’s what was communicated to Mr. Price at the time. I am no longer Curren Price’s attorney, and in light of these politically motivated allegations, we are coordinating with Curren Price’s legal counsel to provide all of our files and documentation.”
Price, in most polls has a resounding lead over all of his opponents.
