The holidays are behind us which leaves many with new resolutions for a better diet, a new cleanse or signing up for yet another gym membership.
Husband and wife entrepreneurs, George & Alisha McDonald might have the ticket to help kick the New Year off in the right direction. They are providing the community with functional blended beverages that include Kalemonade, Ironworks and Breathe—it’s called Restore Blendz.
“Each one of these juices, specifically targets a function of the body,” said Alisha. “The Kalemondae, the flagship flavor, will hit the liver and kidneys—there is a lot of thought in each one of these drinks and what the specific function is going to do for the body.”
Established in March 2015, Restore Blendz, under parent company, i am restoration, are juices that consist of a Lemon Ginger base which helps digestion, combats inflammation and assists in strengthening immunity and detoxification.
The juices are sweetened with organic Agave Nectar to keep them low glycemic and uniquely formulated to support specific restoring benefits. All of the juices are blended to get the benefits of the fresh juice and fiber.
The idea for Restore Blendz came a few years ago when George was juicing for health reasons. He was fighting obesity and found that juicing proved to be the ticket to major weight loss. Along with a diet change and exercise, George loss a significant amount of weight and owes a lot of that achievement to his juice blends.
“This is something I’m just making, not thinking of it as a marketable product,” George said.
“This is just something I make in place of the juicing I was doing.”
A combination of positive feedback and spiritual inspiration led George to turn his blends into a product.

“[Cherry Black] is the runaway hit flavor,” said George. “I made it completely by accident.”
Cherry Black is packed with antioxidants and activated charcoal which draws toxins out of the body.
The best part about the McDonald’s juices is that they are easy to drink because they taste good. George spoke about what sets his juices apart from all the others.
“The blend, the flavor combinations, I come up with them on my own,” said George. “I don’t really make a juice unless I’m inspired.”
“I don’t put out a juice unless the flavor profile is there,” he said.
George and Alisha currently have a private clientele but their future goals are simple—they want to give the community health.
“Our goal is to make sure health is at arm’s reach,” said Alisha. “We want to see this accessible to everyone.”
“I want people to be healthy, I want people to know food differently,” said George. “I want to give them ‘sol’ meaning ‘light’ food—that they can feel energized.”
