Proclaiming that, “It’s time to tear down denominational walls,” the Rev. Mark Whitlock and Rev. Dr. Allen Williams, both A.M.E. ministers, have united to present the internationally-known Rev. Dr. Freddie Haynes for their Lenten Season Revival 2011.
The two night event, set for Wednesday, March 30 and Thursday, March 31, offer believers in both Orange and Los Angeles Counties the opportunity to worship and hear Rev. Dr. Haynes, said Rev. Whitlock.
“This revival is actually two events in one and we are excited to have a relevant word for a respectable time from Rev. Dr. Haynes, one of the leading pastors in the United States. On Wednesday, we will worship at Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church, located at 46 Maxwell in Irvine.
“Then, on Thursday, we will continue our Lenten celebration as part of the Los Angeles – Pasadena District Conference under the leadership of Presiding Elder LaGrant Moore and hosted by Rev. Dr. Williams of First A.M.E. Church,” he said. First A.M.E. is located at 1700 North Raymond Avenue in Pasadena. Services at both churches begin at 7 p.m.
Rev. Dr. Haynes serves as senior pastor of Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Renown for his spiritually empowering, Bible-based messages, his congregation exceeds 12,000 and the church sponsors more than 45 ministries for members and the surrounding community.
According to his website, his main message is, “If Christians are to positively impact the world they must be willing to minister beyond the walls of the church.” His motto is exemplified through his founding of FDH Ministries and FW Empowerment, the church’s community development corporation.
Rev. Haynes is a popular radio host in Dallas as well as author of “Soul Fitness,” a daily devotional, and “Healing Our Broken Village” which addresses freedom from emotional and social bondage.
