(Los Angeles, February 1, 2008) Danny J. Bakewell, Sr., Executive Publisher and Danny J. Bakewell Jr., VP and Publisher of the Los Angeles Sentinel, recently voted the best Black weekly newspaper in the United States by the National Negro Publishers Association (NNPA), will announce the paper's coveted endorsement of Democratic Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama, at a press conference at the paper's headquarters at 3800 S. Crenshaw Boulevard in Los Angeles on February 4, 2008, at 10:00 a.m.

"While it is an historical occasion that our nation has the opportunity to choose between two outstanding candidates, an African American man and a woman, to become the democratic nominee," Bakewell said. "Our Editorial Board has determined that Obama, who has stimulated a new generation of voters and energized the mood for real change in the White House, with definitive plans to implement that change, is the best presidential candidate for 2008."
