I had the pleasure of participating in “The National Day of Prayer” Teleconference on Thursday, May 2. My subject was built around last week’s title: “Not by the Hair of My Chinny Chin Chin,” using the rhyme as a parable focusing on the families of single mothers and fathers with the scriptural base of Luke 9:38-43.
Many much-needed prayers for all walks of life were offered to Almighty God in the name of Jesus Christ. We know when we call on the name of Yeshua, our prayers are heard and answered. We don’t have to be bothered with doubtful thoughts and equivocating wondering “if” He hears us. For we know that if he hears us, we have the petitions we have asked of Him.
He said heretofore you have not asked my name, but now, ask anything in my name and he will give it to us. He tells us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Know that the Lord, He is God. It is He who has made us and we did not create or make ourselves.
We further proclaim in His name, and He witnesses for us that we are His people, and we are the sheep of His pasture. When we even begin to think that we have accomplished everything on our own, Ha! Big mistake!
There are those who hold hate, disappointment and allow their minds to become clogged like a sewer with unhealthy memories (sifting them around in our minds; playing them like a tape recorder) Stop it! Jesus Christ has already done the work. It’s all done.
You ask, “What is done?” Everything! Someone says, “If everything is already done, then why things are the way they are?” I’ll tell you why. It is no secret.
A first pivotal error called sin was committed by Adam and Eve. “What?” Eve got herself all confused, thinking about herself and her impatience and greed and curiosity. She decided to exercise the great gift Almighty God had given – choice.
Choice gives us the opportunity to consider things, think things through, wait, be patient. She was deceived into thinking and acting on her impulsive behavior by disrespecting her husband, Adam. Now, don’t get me wrong, not everything a husband thinks may be correct. The thought is to talk things over. Respect yourself and your husband’s opinion. Think together.
She went over his head thinking her thoughts and actions were better than his. She listened to the Satanic voice of the adversary. Adam knew better. He was the federal head of mankind (Romans 5), but he apparently could not or would not distinguish between her deceit and his disobedience. This decision which they made together cost us dearly.
However, it was an eternal lesson in that we can go back and recall how detrimental one bad decision can throw off the whole of mankind or humankind if you want to say that. We can see quite visibly how the adversary wants to steal the lives of our children from us.
Listen, my friends, it doesn’t just start today or in college and universities. No. This plot of destruction of all mankind has been cooking all along. A.I. is headed in that direction.
If not but for Jesus Christ, all would be lost. Remember some of the words of Mordecai to Esther, “Don’t think if Haman’s plot goes through you are going to survive the genocide. No, you are vulnerable and at risk too. You’re going to be destroyed like everybody else.”
However, Mordecai also said, “If you don’t speak to the king, Jehovah will send another to deliver us from genocide.” I love Mordecai for that. He was irrevocable in holding on to his faith. Esther caught on too.
His faith was changeless. He would not give up. Just think about it. In critical times of risk of loss of material wealth or goods or health, what do we do? Stand steadfast and immovable, unshakeable all in the name of Jesus Christ.
