Washington High School class of 1969 will hold their 55th reunion on Saturday, June 22, at Whiskey Red’s Restaurant in Marina del Rey.
The school is well-known for the hit1986 movie featuring Denzel Washington as the principal, Dr. George McKenna, who currently serves as a member of the L.A. Board of Education.
Also, several notable individuals graduated from Washington including rappers Ice Cube and Yolanda “Yo-Yo” Whitaker, actresses Wendy Raquel Robinson, Teresa Graves and Esther Williams; professional athletes Steve Bryant and Eddie Bressoud, and former L.A. District Attorney Gil Garcetti.
According to the planning committee, sponsorships, in-kind contributions, and financial donations are invited to assist with presenting the event. Also, advertisements can be purchased in the Reunion Souvenir Program and online digital memory book. An Alumni Business Card advertising section will be available as well.
