South Los Angeles residents are invited to participate in eight weeks of free workshops offering healthy raw and cooked food demonstrations and recipes. The sessions begin Saturday, July 8, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Augustus Hawkins Nature Park, located at 5790 Compton Avenue in Los Angeles.

Annie Pierce, CEO of NaturaGrow® and NaturaCare®, is sponsoring the workshops to acquaint people with nutritional and health advantages of eating sprouted seed foods on a daily basis. Pierce maintains that healthy eating habits can reduce obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes in individuals.

“We want to show the community how easy it can be to replace their poor unhealthy diet and eating habits by learning to grow fruits and vegetables using natural agriculture methods, and preparing delicious entrees with time-tested healthy recipes,” she said.

Pierce adopted a healthy eating lifestyle after putting on lots of extra pounds in 2021.  She lost the weight by incorporating GBOMBS – greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries, and seeds – into her meals along with drinking more water and purchasing a sprouting kit.

“Now, I’m at a comfortable weight, and plan to keep eating, exercising, and resting the way I have been doing for the last one-and-one-half years!  I’m very excited to share my favorite delicious recipes and healthy lifestyle practices with the Los Angeles community,” insisted Pierce, who will also encourage attendees to join the 30-day GBOMBS challenge to improve their health.

“People participating in the GBOMBS Challenge will strive to only eat fresh organic greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries, and seeds, and drink water and herbal teas for the next 30 days for improved health,” Pierce said.

The workshops will be held each Saturday through August 15. To learn more, scan the QR code below or visit naturagrow.org, naturacare.net or youthpublications.org.
