A PM10 Dust Advisory is in effect for Wednesday, April 10, 2019 through the morning of Thursday, April 11, 2019 for the Coachella Valley. Gusty northwesterly winds across the region today have resulted in Unhealthy air quality in the Coachella Valley (Area 30) due to blowing dust.
Northwesterly winds of up to 20 miles per hour, with gusts up to 30 miles per hour, are expected to continue through the evening hours of Wednesday. Winds will then diminish after midnight on Thursday. Additional areas in Riverside County may experience elevated particulate levels as this wind event continues through this evening and into tomorrow morning.
Areas of direct dust impacts and Unhealthful air quality may include portions of:
- Riverside County: Areas 30 (Coachella Valley) and 31 (East Riverside County).
In areas directly impacted by windblown dust: Everyone should avoid any vigorous outdoor or indoor exertion; people with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly, and children should remain indoors.
