Celebrity Retreat gives away goodies and after party gets things turned up

The 45th NAACP Image Awards held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium hosted not only the actual awards ceremony but backstage a celebrity retreat was furthering the action. Backstage Creation organized the celebrity retreat, which consisted of a gifting suite where the show’s talent could come relax, score some premium gifts and even get their makeup retouched.

BiGr Audio gave the suite’s guests something fun to listen to with their premium and eco friendly customizable headphones.  Stevie Wonder grabbed himself a pair as well as Terence Howard, who said he will be using BiGR Audio headphones while recording his next few songs. Hairfinity, which has become a favorite among a number of celebs like Regina King and Sherri Shepherd was also present in the retreat, gifting guests with a full months supply of their hair vitamins.

Interior designer, Josh Johnson who was present in the suite spoke with actress Chandra Wilson about possibly doing some interior design for the Grey’s Anatomy 10th Season/Series finale wrap party. For his section of the celebrity retreat Johnson incorporated golden and silver glam and glitz making the room POP!  Live Happy’s Act of Happiness was not giving away any product; instead they were spreading the message to be happy, encouraging people to commit acts of kindness. They have plans to erect acts of happiness walls on March 20, 2014 in Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Atlanta where people can post their acts of happiness in person or virtually through using #HappyActs.

The party didn’t stop there! Immediately following the awards and backstage action was the 45th NAACP Image Awards after party. Hosted by the hilarious Kym Whitley with guest appearances from TV One’s Roland Martin the party fed and entertained guests from the award show.  Many celebrities were spotted throughout the night such as actress Tika Sumpter and actor Michael B. Jordan.  Singer Brandy Norwood worked the crowd taking pictures with friends and fans alike in a stunning black gown.  Lupita Nyong’o, who received the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress was also spotted looking flawless in a beautiful copper-orange Givenchy gown.

Delicious soul food was served throughout the night as well as generous cocktails made by the super friendly bartenders. The vibe of the evening was celebrated through the hashtag #MakeHistoryNow as many gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of those honored in this year’s NAACP Image Awards.

Sounds ranging from reggae to oldies to R&B played and had Whitley even joking, “When Beyonce comes on it makes you feel skinny and free!”  Many gathered to dance, mingle and network. We heard the fun didn’t stop though, as rumors of “after-after parties” were spread amongst social media. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did. Until next year, the NAACP Image Awards.
