Prayer, praise, preaching and teaching will highlight the 2012 Convocation hosted by Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Solomon L. Drake, senior pastor.

Powerful speakers and skilled instructors will participate in the conference that begins on Wednesday, March 21, and continues through Friday, March 23, in the edifice located at 5300 South Denker Avenue in Los Angeles.

The theme of the Convocation is ‘The Foundation of God Standeth Sure’ based on 2 Timothy 2:19. Registration opens at 6 p.m. and worship takes place at 7 p.m.

“We invite all to come and share three wonderful nights of feasting on the wonderful words of God. Our guests preachers for the General Assembly are great men of God who speak the word of God to empower the hearer to desire upward mobility in their walk with Christ,” said Pastor Drake.

The speakers will be the Rev. Dr. Albert Nicholas, pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church on Wednesday; the Rev. Dr. Sylvester Washington, pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Thursday; and the Rev. Dr. William S. Epps, pastor of Second Baptist Church on Friday.

“Also, there will be classes and workshops for all ages with sound doctrine from the Bible that will deepen your spiritual walk and help the body of Christ to grow into the unity that God desires for His Church,” noted Pastor Drake.

Many pastors, ministers and laypersons from the greater Los Angeles area will serve as instructors including the Rev. Dr. W.T. Snead of Greater Temple of God Baptist Church, the Rev. Perry Jones of Messiah M.B. Church, the Rev. Harold Mitchell of Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Rev. Dr. Reginald Pope of Bethel M.B. Church, and the Rev. Charles Crowfield of Greater Olivet M.B. Church.

Members from the teaching ministries of Greater Ebenezer participating are Pastor Drake, the Rev. Darrell Hinton-Hardin, the Rev. Deon Porter, Dr. Sandra Watson, Deacon Paul Smith and Sisters Rosalyn Barnes, Paulette Francis, Brenda Hinton-Hardin, Hester Johnson, Seminola Lamar, Eddie McCaskill, Christy Pittman, Laura Royster, Laura Smith, Glenda Thomas, Marilyn Washington, Lilith Williams, and Virginia Williams.
