Wellington’s Road: About God…
By Brian W. Carter

People have been worshipping god and/or gods since the beginning of civilization. The one thing people have always tried to prove is whether God exists or not. The existence of God is something that has been questioned forever.
People try to prove his existence through life and its many experiences. Most people say God exists through nature. There are ideas and theologies that there are many gods, one God, or even god being whatever you believe him, she or it to be. Most people believe in some greater force guiding our lives in a general direction but they don’t if it’s “God” of the Bible, Buddha or some other god altogether.
Some people disregard God’s existence for their own reasons, whether personal or otherwise. There are people who feel there is no God due to the circumstances of their lives; they think “God couldn’t be real if he let this and that happen in my life” or ” I’ve never seen, heard or felt God, therefore he can’t be real.”
I’d like to say that God’s existence is more than a mere test could ever prove. I’d even further state that God is beyond our circumstances, good or bad. The fact that bad things happen doesn’t negate his presence no more than they prove it. God is a faith experience, you either believe in Him or you don’t.
I believe in the God of the Old and New Testament. I believe in the God that sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ. I have had a personal, one-on-one, experience with Him. I leaned on Him for the first time in my life through a devastating experience, and found his strength was perfect. I continue to learn about his goodness, mercy and awesomely deep love and wisdom.
Am I telling you to believe in a god…or to believe in my God? No but I am asking you not to give up on believing in God because of the circumstances of life. God makes calls to everyone’s heart sooner or later. I hope you answer the knock on the door when you hear it.
