Candy Evess Thomas is all about the business of the Lord. A licensed and ordained minister, Thomas is also a recording artist, author and founder of a non-profit organization that provides much-needed services to the community.
Her dedication and energy stem from God’s miracles in sustaining her daughter to survive seven brain surgeries due to ruptured aneurysms as well as His many spiritual gifts bestowed upon Thomas herself.
“God has showered tremendous blessings on me and my family. My oldest daughter, Sheryl, is a living miracle. She was given up for dead, but thanks to prayer and faith in God, Sheryl lives today and suffers no mental or physical impairments due to the aneurysms,” said Thomas.
“Also, I give God all the glory, honor and praise for blessing me with the gift of praying and laying on hands.”
Her wonderful experiences inspired Thomas to release a gospel CD entitled, ‘God Answers Prayer’ and write a book, ‘It is Amazing.’ Both the CD and book are available at Amazon.com and cdbaby.com.
“The CD contains songs of praise to God for saving Sheryl’s life and the book covers true, factual incidents in my life, including the complete story of how the doctors at UCLA Westwood had to lift Sheryl’s brain up to clamp the first aneurysm and the two separate and brutal murders of my two brothers.
“My father was a Southern Baptist pastor and we were raised in a very religious and strict fashion. However, my brothers strayed away and by doing so, lost their lives,” she said.
In addition to dedicating many hours to her non-profit, Candy Evess Thomas Ministries, she volunteers at several organizations such as the Homeless Outreach of America, Cops and Kids, Say No To Drugs and the YMCA. Thomas also travels the globe speaking and singing to groups and congregations about the goodness of Christ.
She said, “I extend blessings to everyone and let us pray one for another in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
