The ROCK Christian Fellowship has launched its ‘We Care Coffee Project’ by partnering with two Starbucks stores to provide free coffee in four strategic locations in the city of Long Beach, announced Pastor Gregory Sanders.

Temporary coffee stands will be at the Starbucks at 242 Pine Avenue managed by Jared Wiseman, Starbucks Coffee at 5251 East 2nd Street where Liana Dickson serves as manager, outside of the self-parking structure at The Pike and in front of Kelly’s Restaurant/Bar at 5716 East 2nd Street.

Drivers (both valet and self park) will be handed a coffee voucher upon arrival to be redeemed for a free cup of coffee when departing.

“Statistics have revealed that the Driving Under the Influence (DUI) related deaths and accidents are now in the twenty years of age range. Facing the growing number of drinking and driving related accidents and fatalities, it is our desire to reconfirm our commitment to the safety of our community by providing free cups of coffee to any driver who desires or requires it within the city of Long Beach on New Year’s Eve,” said Pastor Sanders.

The ROCK ‘We Care Coffee Project’ team is also in search of volunteers to assist heir efforts to reduce the staggering statistics of injury and deaths related to driving while impaired.

“Whether you can volunteer for a couple of hours or for the duration, the ‘We Care’ team would love to have your participation. To volunteer, email or call (562) 597-7481 and please include your name and telephone number. Let’s help people get home safely,” he said.
