Art is an expression of the soul and it speaks to everyone. Be sure to check out Spectacular: The Art Exhibition kicking of July 1 through Monday, July 4 at the Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles Airport 6225 W. Century Blvd. Los Angeles CA 90045.

Spectacular: The Art Exhibition is an invitation to emerging and established Black LGBT artists and their supporters to present world-class works of art. The purpose of the event is to “fire the human imagination with works of art that inspires, uplifts, and celebrates the LGBT experience,” states Nijel Binns, Artistic Director.

The mission is to “provide a platform for trend-setting artists from the LGBT community and their associates whose paintings, sculpture, graphic, and literary arts display a level of excellence that were hallmarks of the Harlem Renaissance era, but relevant to our time.”

Local artist, Al Hornsby will have his work on display within the event. Some of his works, which include humorous, takes on figures like Ronald Reagan, President Bush and Sara Palin will be presented. He will also feature works on historical Black figures such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and other representational art.
