‘SOUTH BAY CONNECT DAY’ BRINGS TOGETHER SERVICE PROVIDERS WITH THOSE IN NEED

“South Bay Connect Day” is a health and resource fair providing – in one place – help and information for needy and homeless individuals and families in the South Bay. The event will be held June 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Alondra Park, 3850 Manhattan Beach Blvd., in Lawndale.

Among the activities and services available:

Health screenings and education; dental care and screenings; dental health services; substance abuse screening and treatment; veteran services; distribution of hygiene kits with toothbrushes, soap and other items; information about utility, housing and rental assistance; employment information; legal support and advocacy; health insurance enrollment; and school tutoring and supplies.

County Department of Public Social Services benefits enrollment, Department of Mental Health treatment and housing, the Public Defenders office, Public Health Center and Senior Services will also be on hand. Free meals, clothing and pantry items, raffles and entertainment will also highlight the day.
