Bishop Joe Ealy will convene 98th Annual Holy Convocation of the Southern California First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ (COGIC) on Monday, June 18, through Sunday, June 24.

“We cordially invite the community to join us. We have many dynamic speakers, uplifting worship and inspiring workshop sessions, so come out and be blessed,” said Bishop Ealy.

Events kick-off Monday at 7 p.m., with a free musical directed by Evangelist Markita Knight, State Minister of Music. The Jurisdictional Choir will sing along with several guests. The program will be held at the Carson Community Center, 801 East Carson Street in Carson.

Day sessions will be featured on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m., at Gospel Memorial COGIC, located at 1480 Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach. Thursday’s daytime agenda includes Women’s Day, hosted by State Supervisor Barbara McCoo Lewis, at 9 a.m., at the West Angeles COGIC North Campus, 3045 South Crenshaw Boulevard in Los Angeles where COGIC Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake is pastor. On Thursday at 10 a.m., Bishop Ealy will hold his Bishop’s Council in the West Angeles Crystal Room.

Evening worship will start at 7 p.m. On Tuesday and Wednesday, services take place at Carson Community Center. The speakers will be Superintendent Kevin Moreland and Administrative Assistant Jerry Johnson, respectively.

West Angeles North Campus sanctuary will be the site of the Thursday and Friday evening worship. Bishop J. Drew Sheard and Pastor David Moore, respectively, will preach.

Saturday’s Youth Service, with the sermon by Superintendent Jeffrey Lewis, will be held at Gospel Memorial COGIC. On Sunday at 3 p.m., Bishop Ealy will preach at the Official Day service held at West Angeles Cathedral.
