‘Tyler Perry’s Temptation’ debuted in third place, earning $21.6 million, followed by

the action film “Olympus Has Fallen” with $14.1 million and “Oz the Great and   Powerful” with $11.7 million during the Easter weekend. This marks the ninth Tyler Perry film that has opened earning $20 million or more. Further proof that Perry’s franchise is far from a one hit wonder and indication that he will rank among the best filmmakers of all-time when its said and done.

Executive producers Jay-Z, Dream Hampton, and Wyatt Cenac present Terence Nance’s explosively creative debut feature, ‘An Oversimplification of Her Beauty.’ With arresting insight, vulnerability, and a delightful sense of humor, the film documents the relationship between Terence (Nance) and a lovely young woman (Namik Minter) as it teeters on the divide between platonic and romantic.

Utilizing a tapestry of live action and multiple styles of animation, the film blurs the line between narrative, documentary, and experimental film as it explores the fantasies, emotions, and memories that race through Terence’s mind as he examines and re-examines a singular moment in time.

Girl Rising,” filmmaker Richard E. Robbins’ film about nine girls in different developing countries who dream of attending school, has been picked up by Regal Cinemas for a week-long engagement in theaters this month.

“Scandal” star Kerry Washington and singer Alicia Keys are among the narrators of the documentary, which will premiere in 150 theaters on April 19 via Regal Entertainment Group.

“Girl Rising” was previously being showcased in cities nationwide via Gathr, a new demand-based theatrical-distribution platform in which fans committed to buying enough movie tickets to secure a screening.

“Regal recognizes the intense interest by American moviegoers demanding that this film be seen in their local communities,” stated Amy Miles, CEO of Regal Entertainment Group. “This movie is making an emotional impact on many of our patrons, me included. The stories from these extraordinary girls in nine different countries are accompanied by narration from an A-list of entertainers.”

Other narrators in the film include Cate Blanchett, Priyanka Chopra, Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek, Chloe Moretz, Liam Neeson, Frieda Pinto and Meryl Streep.

A portion of all ticket will go to the 10×10 Fund for Girls Education. 10×10 is a global campaign to educate and empower girls.

CNN Films has global TV distribution rights, and plans to air it in Spring 2013.
