Preachers Sing at Ministers’ Concert

The vocal talents of several local preachers will highlight the 22nd Annual Singing Ministers’ Concert set for Sunday, November 17, at 6 p.m., at Price Chapel A.M.E. Church, 4000 West Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles.

The musical event, sponsored by the Price Trustee Board, features an ecumenical group of clergy singing hymns, gospel and contemporary selections, said Pastor Cedric V. Alexander who will also perform.

“Mr. Pres Blackmon of KTYM radio station will emcee this awesome program and present our line-up of 13 dynamic ministers.  You do not want to miss our great participants,” said Pastor Alexander.

The singers include the Rev. Mervel Warren of First New Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist, the Rev. N.W. Martin of New Life Institutional Baptist, Pastor Kenneth Baker of Bethel A.M.E. – Perris, Pastor Michael Eagle, Sr., of Grant A.M.E. – Long Beach, Pastor Mary Minor of Murph Chapel/St. Paul A.M.E. Church – Valinda, Pastor Taurus Myhand of Ward A.M.E., and Pastor Gregory K. McLeod of Brookins Community A.M.E.

Other participants are the Rev. Shirley LaCour of Bethel A.M.E. –LA, the Rev. Clarence Devereaux of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist, and the Rev. Magdaline Milsap of Christian Unity Missionary Baptist, the Rev. Adell McDaniel of Union Missionary Baptist, the Rev. Kenneth Breaux of Anaheim and the Rev. Dr. Jules Bagneris of Los Angeles.

Mrs. Faye Edmond is the program chairperson and Mrs. Virginia Damon-Carmichael is the co-chairperson.
