New Antioch Church of God in Christ will celebrate its 44th Anniversary on Sunday, February 16, at the 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., worship services.

The theme for this year’s anniversary service is ‘Clear Vision, Clean Hands, Constant Faith’ taken from Matthew 7:7.

Founded by Dr. James A. Lewis and his wife, Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis, with five other saints in early January 1970, the first service for New Antioch was held on Sunday, February 1, 1970.

In January 2006, Superintendent Jeffrey M. Lewis was appointed senior pastor of New Antioch. He and his wife, First Lady Floetta Lewis, continue to carry the legacy and commitment of serving the community through ministry and the passion for soul winning.

“Our church anniversary is time to celebrate the past and look ahead to the future,” said Pastor Lewis, who invites the entire community to attend the Anniversary Celebration services. Tributes and Historical reflections will be presented. The Mass Choir will render the music.

New Antioch is located at 7826 South Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.  For information call (323) 778-7965 or visit Also, witness Pastor Lewis’ expository teaching at at 11 a.m.
