Mt. Moriah Honors Pastor for 39 Years

Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Los Angeles will conclude the 39th Year Appreciation and Recognition Celebration of Pastor Melvin and First Lady Jacquie Wade on Sunday, April 27, during the 9:15 a.m. and 4 p.m., worship services.

The theme is ‘Our Pastor, Leading, Preaching & Teaching Our Church In Transition’ based on Romans 12:2.  Horace Hall and Vicki Ward are the celebration chairs.

Under Dr. Wade’s leadership, Mount Moriah has engaged in local and national causes including the construction of the Mount Moriah Senior Villa, a forty-unit apartment building for seniors to live independently. The villa was built in honor of the late Dr. Earl A. and Mrs. Olga W. Pleasant.

At 9:15 a.m. the guest preacher will be Pastor Gregory Payton of Greater St. John Baptist Church of Oakland.

Pastor A. D. Iverson and Paradise Baptist Church, Pastor Daryl K. Labat and Greater Metropolitan Baptist Church, Bishop J. Bernard Hackworth and Testimonial Cathedral Church of God in Christ will be the guests at the 4 p.m. worship along with special guests, Pastor Mark A. Williams and Faith Fellowship Church of Corona.
