Ventura resident CPA Rhen C. Bass, Sr. has been selected to receive the Elder Watson Diggs award, the second highest award that can be conferred to members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. The award will be bestowed upon Mr. Bass at the fraternity’s 78th Grand Chapter Meeting which will be held in Minneapolis-St. Paul Minnesota this summer.
Mr. Bass has been a member of Kappa Alpha Psi since 1974. He was initiated at East Michigan University. Since his initiation into the fraternity Mr. Bass has resided in the northern, southern, southwestern, and western parts of the United States. No matter where he has lived his commitment to Kappa Alpha Psi has been nothing short of phenomenal. Although he is an expert accountant he is equally an expert Kappa man because he soaks up all past and current knowledge, practices, programs, and causes championed regarding the fraternity and he readily shares his expertise with new and veteran members of the fraternity. Mr. Bass is held in high esteem within the fraternity and beyond.
Mr. Bass is not only well respected within the fraternity but he is also well known and well respected throughout the region. He has always been willing to lend a hand in support of other events and programs which benefit African Americans and the community at large. He has also been a supporter of the Links – Los Angeles Chapter, and has been a mentor to a number of students at UC Santa Barbara and other area colleges.
