Family Film Day at CAAM - 'Ethnic Notions'

Thursday 07 August 2014

Director and producer Marlon Riggs' documentary, “Ethnic Notions”, takes us through American history as it traces the evolution of the deeply rooted stereotypes that have fueled anti-Black prejudice. This film explores caricatures like "Loyal Toms," "Faithful Mammies," and "Grinning Coons," that permeated popular culture from the 1820s to the 1950s. CAAM is located at 600 State Drive, Exposition Park, Los Angeles, CA 90037.  For more information visit
