Metro to Run Special Extended Service on All Rail Lines and Metro Orange Line for HARD Summer Music Festival

Got your tickets to HARD Summer Music Festival yet? If not, you’d better get on it: single day tickets are still available, and Metro is making it easier than ever to attend. The festival will sprawl across the Los Angeles State Historic Park, just a five-minute walk from the Metro Gold Line Chinatown Station. In addition to being so close to a Metro Rail stop, Metro will run special extended rail service the nights of the festival, making sure everyone who attends can get a safe ride home.

HARD Summer will take place on Friday, Aug. 3 and Saturday, Aug. 4. It will feature more than 60 live performances and world class DJ sets on four stages. The music starts each night at 6 p.m. and the last sets will conclude at about 2 a.m. Metro Rail and the Metro Orange Line will run approximately an hour after the festival ends each night to accommodate patrons. This is special service above and beyond the late-night weekend service Metro will begin July 27.

For HARD Summer, the last Metro Gold Line train will depart Union Station for Sierra Madre Villa Station at 2:39 a.m. The last Red and Purple Line trains will depart Union Station at 2:42 a.m. and 2:47 a.m. respectively. The last Blue Line train will depart 7th/Metro at 2:57 a.m.; the last Expo Line train will depart at 2:54 a.m. The last Green Line train will connect with the Blue Line at 3:30 a.m. and the last Orange Line bus will leave North Hollywood at 3:18 a.m. Times are subject to change to allow for system maintenance, so make sure to check Metro.net for the most up-to-date information.

So leave your cars at home and don’t worry about trying to drive after a long night of aural ecstasy. Save yourself from the hassle of finding parking and save some cash, too – just go Metro and rock out to your heart’s content.
