Jerry Brown, owner of ‘A Moments Notice,’ holds a vast history in the entertainment business

Similar to figures included within the Crenshaw Mural of African-American Progress, members of our community have also attained remarkable achievements.

Owner of ‘A Moments Notice’ Limousine, Rainforest Car Wash and other enterprises, Jerry Brown holds a vast history in the entertainment business.  With an impeccable work ethic extending from childhood, Brown was a sharecropper’s son, born in Mississippi. At the age of fourteen, Brown and his mother agreed upon his travels to Greenwood, MS to join one of his siblings. Continuing to move throughout his early teens, Brown “could always get a job,” as he described. Landing in St. Louis at 16, Brown initiated his career in music as a member of Albert King’s (the brother of B.B. King) band. This would catapult several dynamic experiences within entertainment.

In 1964, Brown managed eight clubs for a larger organization, increasing their revenue significantly. Following, Brown founded a fish market, then an ice cream shop and other businesses where he employed several family members from his hometown. However, after the clubs desisted, Brown embarked on the journey of his limousine venture. After buying one for himself, he purchased several others. In efforts to house his new prized possessions, he left his workplace in Westwood and established his current location at 48th & Crenshaw.

Through this business, Brown met celebrities such as Anne Francis, Lucille Ball, and Debbie Reynolds, accompanying Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown on their first date, as well as participating in the memories of several other notables in Hollywood. Continuing to demonstrate a passion for labor, Brown stated, “If you can’t work hard in life, you’re never gonna have anything or amount to anything.” Brown also shared that all of his employees have been educated of his business practices and work ethic. Contributing to L.A. Mission, Fred Jordan Mission and a few churches, Brown prides himself on his giving spirit and attributes his success to family. His distinct characteristics are also present in his work, so let’s show our support. For more information visit www.amomentsnoticelimousine.com.
