A holistic gathering for spiritual females defines the ‘Praising God Out of the Box’ Women’s Conference hosted by Walker Temple A.M.E. Church starting Friday, August 10 through Sunday, August 12.

According to Pastor Rosalynn Brookins, the three-day event will offer sessions and activities that strengthen the mind, body and soul of women seeking to live godly in Christ in the midst of the world’s pressures.

“This will be a powerful conference that will transform your life.  Our facilitators will cover issues we, as women, face on a daily basis and provide scripture-based solutions to help you experience the fullness of Christ in your day-to-day living,” said Pastor Brookins.

The speakers and topics are the Rev. Stephanie Butler Adams  - ‘My Body is My Temple,’ the Rev. Dr. Thema Bryant-Davis – ‘Getting Your Mind Right to Receive God’s Plan,’ Dr. Eve Allen – ‘Healing Your Body Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually,’ and the Rev. Damali Najuma Smith-Pollard – ‘Sister to Sister – Spiritual Cleansing.’

“Also, we will recognize three women on Sunday at 11 a.m., who dared to step ‘out of the box’ to make changes in the government, the media and the pulpit.   We invite the entire community to bring a friend and join us the entire weekend,” said Pastor Brookins.

The guest preacher will be the Rev. Dr. Helen Easterling Williams. The honorees are Pastor Debra Ward of Light of the Community Church, LA City Councilwoman Jan Perry, and Sentinel Executive Brenda Marsh-Mitchell.

Registration is $60 and includes conference materials and refreshments. Group rates are available as well.

All events take place at Walker Temple A.M.E. Church, located at 2525 Trinity Street in Los Angeles. For complete details, call the church office at (213) 747-7454.
