Bible Quiz-o-Rama continues to show the youth approved!

On Saturday, July 7, the Los Angeles Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) churches of Los Angeles County gathered for the annual Bible Quiz-o-Rama challenge at Los Angeles Adventist Academy (LAAA). This year 54^th Street SDA Church took 1st Place, with Normandie SDA Church coming in 2nd Place, and 3rd Place going to last year’s winner, Berean SDA Church.

Linda Mackey, first lady of Rainbow SDA Church in San Francisco, continues to serve as Quizmaster over the event. She took over from her father, the late Elder Earl Canson, Regional Director of the Pacific Union, who started the annual quiz-o-rama over 40 years ago.  

The competing churches in attendance were: Antelope Valley SDA Church, Berean SDA Church, Bethel SDA Church, Breath of Life SDA Church, Compton Community SDA Church, Ephesus SDA Church, Miramonte SDA Church, Normandie Ave. SDA Church, Smyrna SDA Church, Tamarind Ave. SDA Church, University SDA Church, Valley Crossroads SDA Church and 54^th Street SDA Church.

Michael Jenkins, pastor of Breath of Life SDA Church, served as moderator and master of ceremonies. Church members filled the bleachers and floors in the LAAA auditorium to cheer and rally for their church teams as competition remained tight and fierce for several churches.  

The book of 2^nd Chronicles was the subject of this year’s quiz-o-rama. All the teams were required to study the entire book of 2^nd Chronicles in conjunction with material from SDA prophet, Ellen White.  

Congratulations to the 54^th Street SDA Bible Quiz-o-Rama team: Michael Mejia, Theresa Owusu Rowe, Ema Rowe, Jessica Donaldson, Nirsa Oshon, Vashtie Edwards, Andrea Edwards, Ashley Smith, Darlene Akpulonu and Blessing Akpulonu. Pastor Adolphus Garnett is the pastor of 54^th Street SDA Church and the Greater Los Angeles Regional Director.
