The Second African Methodist Episcopal Church of Los Angeles will celebrate Friends and Family Day during worship services on Sunday, March 11.
Pastor Stephanie Douglas will be the 8 a.m. worship speaker and the Rev. Quanetha Hunt will speak at the 10:45 a.m. service.
"We encourage the community to accept the invitations from their friends, relatives and co-workers to meet them for worship and share in this special celebration," said the Rev. John E. Cager III, senior minister of Second A.M.E.
Pastor Douglas is the founder of Vessels of Honor Ministries, Inc. She is a nationally sought out speaker at churches, conferences, retreats and seminars, and serves as counselor to pastors and ministries throughout the country.
She is also an advisor and former vice-president of The SISTERS Ministry. In addition, she served as vice-president of the Los Angeles Chapter of E.C. Reems Women's International Ministries and as assistant pastor at Worship Center Community Church in Long Beach.
The Rev. Quanetha Hunt is the executive minister at Second A.M.E. Throughout her ministerial career, she has coordinated and organized various outreach programs serving youth, young adults and the larger community.
A popular preacher and speaker, the Rev. Hunt is an experienced program and workshop facilitator.
