We're about 50 miles outside of Odessa, Texas and headed home. There is a lot of thought and conversation reflecting about the experience in Jena. But not just about the experience, but about the relevance and the effect it's having on everyone. We happened to catch a broadcast of CNN coverage on the event and were pleasantly surprised to see an objective perspective from a large media outlet. Leading up to the event, we know the coverage was minimal or absent altogether. But people watching it agreed that CNN did a good job this time, and Nancy Gray and other journalists seemed to agree that the charges were harsh, and had genuine interests with seeking more appropriate justice.
For those who believe the Jena march was "overblown", click here for a developing story from CNN that attests to sentiments STILL prevalent in the south by some, justifying the importance of our protest. Take note of the ages of these fools!!!
There is so much to talk about. Look forward to the article in the Sentinel!
