Presidential candidate’s L.A. office reportedly burglarized

For the second time in less than three months a campaign office for Sen. Barack Obama was burglarized, according to reliable sources close to the Democratic presidential hopeful.

The first suspicious break-in occurred in July at his campaign office in Davenport, Iowa and last Thursday, Oct. 25 his newly opened Los Angeles campaign office reportedly had two laptop computers stolen.

Ironically, during the Davenport break-in two laptop computers were also stolen according to a published report.

Los Angeles Police Department officials are allegedly investigating the incident, but the Sentinel was unable to reach a spokesman at press time late Oct. 30.

However, the newspaper did manage to reach an official at Obama’s campaign office located at 3333 Wilshire Blvd., who requested that their name not be used in this report.

“I’ve got strong statements from our national office saying that I can confirm what happened, but to refer everything to the LAPD,” the confidential source said.

The source indicated that they had moved into the location “less than 24 hours” before the break-in occurred and also stated the “laptop computers contain voter information that would only be meaningful to an individual or individuals who knows exactly what they are looking for.”

No other items were stolen the source added.

In the previous break-in it was reported that the two laptops taken did not appear to contain anything sensitive or irreplaceable.
