After an extensive 16-month search, members have selected the Rev. Shane B. Scott as the new pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church, 1751 East 114th Street in Los Angeles.

To commemorate the occasion, an installation banquet was held on Friday, March 23, at 6 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Gateway Hotel in Torrance. The guest speaker was the Rev. Amos Brown of San Francisco.

Three worship services will be held on Sunday, March 25. Bringing the message at 8 a.m. will be the Rev. Dante Quick of Friendship Baptist Church in Vallejo. Evangelist Manuel Scott will preach at 11 a.m., and the Rev. Alvin Bernstine of Bethlehem M.B. Church in Richmond will speak at the Installation Service at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Scott's ministerial experience includes serving as senior pastor of St. Rest Baptist Church in Fresno and as youth and young adult minister at Friendship Baptist Church in Vallejo. Since he came to Macedonia in November 2011, attendance has increased at Sunday services and weekday activities.

A graduate of Stillman College, the Rev. Scott holds a bachelor's degree in Religion and Philosophy and earned a Master's of Divinity degree at American Baptist Seminary of the West.
