Albertsons Invites Community to Get Ready, Get Set, Get Healthy at Store Event

Last February in honor of Black History Month, Albertsons/Sav-On Pharmacy partnered with the Los Angeles Urban League and American Heart Association to provide an interactive healthy lifestyle event – Get Ready, Get Set, Get Healthy, which took place at the Albertsons supermarket located at 3901 Crenshaw Boulevard.

Albertsons/Sav-On Pharmacy kicked the event off with a $15,000 check presentation made to both the Los Angeles Urban League and the American Heart Association.  After the check presentation, the over 75 community residents in attendance were treated to health screenings, expert nutritional guidance from Albertsons Dietician, Heidi Diller, as well as healthy recipe demonstrations and food sampling facilitated by the American Heart Association.  To conclude the event, each participant was given a free grocery bag consisting of nutritional information, recipes, and all of the necessary grocery items to replicate the health recipe demonstrated by American Heart Association.

All in all, the event turned out to be a fun, interactive, information filled afternoon, and it was very apparent that Albertsons/Sav-On Pharmacy has a true commitment to the health and well-being of the community!
