Get you stop watches out and head to Arcadia High School, as some of the top high school track and field athletes in the nation will be present for the yearly Arcadia Invitational. Every year the Arcadia Invitational features the who’s who of track and field, and any sprinter in Southern California who excels at the sport will be running there this Saturday. Athletes such as Quincy Watts, Danny Everett, Gail Devers, Mike Powell, Marion Jones, and Allyson Felix have competed, and dominated, at this meet in past years. Because this meet has so many great athletes, every year numerous national leading times are set at this event. Friday night will feature several relay races that are not typically run, such as the 4x200, 4x800, and 4x110 shuttle hurdles. Events start at 4:30.On Saturday morning, starting at 9:30, runners will have a chance to qualify for the night session in the seeded races, and Saturday night, starting at 5:25, the big show begins, as the top runners compete in the invitation races, and the athletes who earned their way to the evening event will compete in the seeded races.
