Former Motown PR department head and publicist to pop legend Michael Jackson for more than 34 years, Bob Jones has passed. According to the EURweb report, the author of the 2005 Jackson tell-all "The Man behind the Mask," died of a heart attack in his garage after a bike ride Saturday, September 20. He was 72.
Jones, who handled publicity for artists like Rick James, Lionel Richie and Diana Ross became famous more recently as a disgruntled employee who "didn't get severance nor a pension" when Jackson fired him in 2004. He avenged himself with "Mask" by giving the public sordid details about the musician's strange behavior throughout the years.
