Jennifer Hudson's Mother and Brother Found Murdered

The mother and brother of Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson were found shot to death in the mother's Chicago home on Friday.

The Chicago Fire Department confirmed that two adults were found dead at 70^th Street and Yale Avenue. The Chicago Police Department also confirmed two people were found shot to death at the residence and said it was "being investigated as a homicide." But police did not release the identities of the victims or other details.

The entertainment website TMZ, citing a neighbor, said Hudson's brother Jason also was found dead. A cousin who lived nearby discovered the bodies, TMZ said. The Tribune, quoting police, said the killings may be linked to a domestic disturbance.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for 7-year-old Julian King, and were seeking a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban. The child was the grandson of the female victim, Patterson said, and Bond added the boy could also be a relative of Hudson.

The alert said the child was possibly abducted, and accompanied by a man — considered armed and dangerous who was a suspect in the double homicide investigation. The two could also be in a teal or green Chrysler Concord with a temporary license plate, a left front headlight hanging out and scratches on the left side of the vehicle, police said.
