"The Conditions of Prayer" will be explained through a four-part sermon series during the month of December at Brookins Community A.M.E. Church, located at 4831 South Gramercy Place in Los Angeles, announced Rev. Joseph C. Nixon, senior minister.
"Many people lead powerless, empty lives because they don't consistently communicate with God. This sermon series shares the keys to abundant living through devoted, faithful and regular prayer," said Pastor Nixon.
In addition, several holiday programs will be held this month. All events are free and open to the public.
On Saturday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m., the Mesereau-Ephriam-Villaraigosa Free Legal Clinic will host a panel on "Real Estate & Mortgage Matters." Participants will be Attorney Reginald Mason, Real Estate Broker Zayzay Gosa & Housing Consultant Patricia Herbert.
On Sunday, December 21 at 10 a.m., the Sunday School Department will be hold its Annual Christmas Play in the sanctuary of Brookins Community Development Center on the corner of 48th Street and Gramercy Place. The play will be directed by, Superintendent Renee Wilcots.
On December 21 at 5 p.m., the Music Department will present "This Chrismas," a musical featuring Brookins choirs and the combined choirs of the L.A. Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America. The program will be directed by, Dr. Rodena Preston, minister of music.
Christmas Day Service is set for Thursday, December 25 at 9 a.m. in the main sanctuary with sermon by Pastor Nixon and music by the Mass Choir.
Brookins holds Sunday services at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., and Mid-Week Worship on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Community Development Center.
