Is everyone ready for the New Year? Whether 2008 was good for you or bad for you, it is now gone. We must move forward with the plans, dreams and execution of these plans and dreams as we begin this New Year. Obviously, as I said in last week's article Hope is alive and well with the election of Barack and the dawning of a new day.
But for me personally and probably for most of you, this New Year marks either a chance for you to take control of whatever is in your way or re-affirm your commitment to yourselves and your lives.
I was reading an interesting magazine article the other day where a couple was asked to list their priorities. The first person responded "my children, my partner and me." The other person responded, "your priorities are 'all out of whack,' you have to be your first priority." They gave the analogy that on a plane they tell you, in the event of an emergency, to put your mask on first so you can help others. This means you cannot save/help anyone else before you help/save yourself.
This got me thinking and ultimately looking internally and questioning my priorities and exactly how I am handling these very same issues. It got me to asking myself if can I help my family, friends, business or my community if I am not first and foremost taking care of Danny? Now this does not mean I am going to do a lot of things differently and certainly I still want all of you who are part of the Sentinel family to continue Talking to Danny. But, I am letting you know and I will keep you updated on my progress toward my commitment myself to improving me. I am talking about taking on this adventure, physically, spiritually and mentally.
I encourage you all to do the same. Let's help each other to be the best me, I can be, and thus WE can all be the best WE, we can be. I know I'm talking a little crazy but I think you all get the point.
So, whether you agree or disagree, now more than ever I really need your input. I need to hear from you. I need to know what is going on in our community. I also need to know what other stories we need to tell, and what is on your mind. I really do want to hear from you, I want you to "Talk to Danny."
God Bless You,
